One-to-One Journeys
Deep, personalised work that unfolds over time.
One-to-One Journeys are offered to people I have already met — through the Consultation, or from work we have done together before. The shape is drawn from what emerges between us, not chosen from a page.
- SHAPE

What it is
Some things cannot be met in a single conversation. They need time, a rhythm and a place to return to.
A journey is that place.
My approach is neuro-developmentally grounded, trauma-informed, somatic and deeply relational — also embodied, and sometimes mystical. It is not a technique applied to you, but a following of what is alive, and of what wants to be seen.
Who comes
People arrive at a journey from two directions — because something has to be crossed, or because they want to go further. What is carried differs. The work does not.
What the work involves
Through connection — with yourself, with another, with life itself. We deepen body awareness, grounding and self-listening, and explore the relational patterns that once kept you safe and now hold you in place.
Nothing happens faster than feels right. Presence matters more than protocol, so we follow what is alive in the room: your words, your body, what goes unsaid.
“Working with Aleksandra has been a beautiful opportunity to reveal parts of myself that needed to be seen and welcomed. She constantly guided me back to my body, and I felt met in tender places with compassion, care and respect.”
What I have witnessed people leave with
Not all at once, and not the same way for everyone. But over years of this work, again and again:
- A kinder, more truthful relationship with themselves than they had ever had
- The body no longer an enemy or a stranger, but somewhere it is possible to live
- Language for what had never had words
- Choice where there had been only reaction — and the strength to act on it
- What was carried alone finally set down, or shared. Some of it was never theirs to carry
- The deep knowing, felt in the bones, that they were never broken
And the change ripples. Into work, into relationships, into the people closest to them — who often feel the difference before anything has been said about it.
“She is present with all of you just where you are, with so much love, respect and compassion that your process unfolds in a smooth and delicate way, but at the same time powerful and effective.”
There is a space between us that neither of us reaches alone
Who you will be met by

Aleksandra Matakovic-Manca
I am a medical doctor, psychiatrist and psychotherapist, and I have spent over two decades in clinical practice across Italy and England. I choose to work as a coach, mentor and guide.
The shapes this can take
How a journey is held depends on what you are living, and on what you have the capacity for.
Some are measured in months — a rhythm of sessions, with resources and support between them, so that the work continues in your own life and not only in the room. Some are measured in days, where what is needed is not a rhythm but an uninterrupted stretch of time, and a residential retreat can be created for that, shaped entirely around the person who comes. And some are measured in returns — an occasional session, when something needs meeting.
We decide the shape, rhythm and depth after we have met, not before.
How this begins
If we have not yet met, it begins with a Consultation — two hours, one to one, where everything you are carrying is laid out where you can see it. Whether a journey follows is decided from there, by both of us, and never in the room while you are still absorbing what you have seen.
If we have already worked together, write to me and we will find the next shape between us.
And if what becomes clear is that a journey is not what you need — or that I am not the person for it — that is a good and honest outcome, and I will help you find where to go instead.
Questions
More questions, including about cost, cancellations and confidentiality, are answered on the full FAQ page.
“When I first met Aleksandra I was reeling from previous negative experiences of psychiatry. Her friendly, warm, compassionately curious, deeply human approach, and delight in her work, has supported me in moving forward to embrace a richer and more meaningful life.”
This is slow work, and it asks for time. That is not a shortcoming of the method — it is what makes the change hold.
With warmth, Aleksandra
A NOTE OF CARE
Inner Being Medicine is coaching, and it draws on everything medicine and psychotherapy taught me. It is not therapy, and it is not medical care. It walks alongside medical and psychological care, and never replaces it.
Please note that I hold registration as a doctor and, in Italy, as a medical psychotherapist. I choose to work as a coach, mentor and guide.
If you are in crisis or need acute support, that care comes first, and I will always help you find your footing there. This work meets you when you are steady enough to listen inward.
